When You Give, You Get More In Return

Today I got to go visit lots of students at one of the elementary schools near me. It was so much fun, and I learned lots of lessons.

The first lesson I learned is that kindergarten and first-grade teachers are the most amazing people in the world! They love their students and make school a safe place for them.

The second lesson I learned is that petting me makes kids happy.

The third lesson I learned is that I like being pet.

The fourth lesson I learned is that mom always has treats in her pocket.

The fifth lesson I learned is that talking about being a friend makes everyone jump up from their seats and raise their hands because they know friends are great!

The sixth lesson I learned is that it is important to push in your seat before visiting me on the colorful rug.

The seventh lesson I learned is that little humans like snack time as much as I do.

The eighth lesson I learned is that saying thank you is a beautiful habit.

The ninth lesson I learned is that sometimes just being quiet says enough.

And the MOST IMPORTANT lesson I learned is that when I take the time to get to know someone, and they take the time to get to know me, we have the chance to see a bit of ourselves in each other.

Before I visited the local elementary school today, the teachers asked their students to draw pictures of how they imagined Phil! Each drawing tells me more about the person who created it and makes me feel so special because they took the time to see me.

And I took the time to see them.

And now we are friends.

And kindergarten and first-grade teachers are amazing people.

I’m a dog, I love life, and I have flaws. I’m perfect. Imperfect. Just. Like. You.

Tell me what's on your mind!
