On The Road Again For The Very First Time

Mom and Dad love a good road trip. Typically, I get left behind, but this past weekend… I got to go!!!! Grammy and Grampa were kind enough to let Molly stay with them. I saw some pictures, I think she took a few naps.

I, on the other hand, stayed wide awake the entire trip.

…or not

While awake, I checked out the sights and learned that there is much to be seen beyond my backyard. After a few hours of driving, we took a short break at a rest stop. I’ve been to upstate New York before, but this was my first time visiting the Finger Lakes region. I think I could be a poster pup!

I learned that traveling requires patience while visiting places the whole group can enjoy. We had a wonderful time at Laurentide Beer Company in Penn Yan, NY, and I got A LOT of hugs. We ordered a pizza, but no one shared it with me, so I took another nap.

Saint Augustine of Hippo is credited with saying, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” He is right. I spent hours in the car, I looked at the beautiful countryside, I saw new places. But most important of all, I made new friends, and we read books.

Attention! Attention! It’s a Dog’s Prerogative to Change His Mind

Technically, I am not changing my mind, I am simply adjusting to what goes on around me. Hmmm, I think there is a good lesson in there for everyone.

Sure, when life throws us a curveball, you could sit on your haunches and pout, but where is the fun in that?! Instead, look for the best solution you can find!

Want to go for a walk, but it’s raining? Put on your doggles!

Nothing is stopping me!

Want to take a nap, but Molly is hogging the sofa?

Move to the bed!

Want to hang your head out the window, but Dixie is closer? Share!

Friends furever!

There is always a way to make things work, so here are a few shifts to my upcoming plans…

I have had to WITHDRAW from Heritage Days in Belvidere, NJ on September 10th in order to attend a memorial for a wonderful woman who left us too soon.

I added a furbaby FUNDRAISER on Saturday, September 17th at Hardball Cider from 1 to 4 p.m with Bully Rescue Warriors!

BE THERE!

I added an amazing child FUNDRAISER EVENT on Sunday, October 9th from 9 a.m to noon at the Belvidere Library on Shotwell Drive in Belvidere AND from 1 p.m to 5 p.m at the Harmony Recreation Fields 3003 Belvidere Road, Phillipsburg, NJ

It doesn’t make sense to bark and complain. This is a team effort, and we are in it together, so wag more, whine less.
